This program is designed to evaluate and train educators to carry defensive handguns on their school campus. We provide the Texas D.P.S. approved training for school district employees and teachers. During the state-mandated two days of instruction the class learns lifesaving information on how to respond to an active shooter event and is placed in real-world scenarios where they must defend the educational environment in a wide variety of situations.
This course is designed for teachers and school employees that are allowed to carry in their school, but it also benefits school teachers and employees who do not carry in school because they will learn lifesaving information on how to respond to an active shooters using what is available to them.
All ranges are NOT the same. At The Range in McKinney your class will be held in a beautiful, new, CLEAN facility, not outside exposed to the elements. Your live-fire proficiency qualification will be held in a private INDOOR range, without prying eyes, in our climate controlled range with a 100% fresh air system that is never recirculated.
We recommend everyone take the 3 day class. The additional day will maximize your training and test your new skills. You will gain important medical knowledge in how to save someone’s life if bleeding, get extra time in the range to focus on different shooting techniques, and spend time in our simulator in real-life scenarios to test your new knowledge and skills. This same system is used by militaries and law enforcement agencies around the world.
Anyone signed up for the class must already have their Texas License to Carry certification. Anyone who does not hold a current Texas LTC must get it before taking this course.
